It's Finished!!

Finally after several weeks of bug testing and getting found bugs fixed, it looks like the site is finished.

If all goes to plan, the site will launch week after next, between Wednesday and Friday. (23rd-25th)

New info on the new GP Studios game will also be released next week along with the site launch!!

Update

Sorry for the lack of updates in the last week or two.

The website looks like it will be ready earlier than anticipated, possibly within the next week or two. We are hoping for it to up and running before the end of August!.

The forum will probably be down until the site is up. If we get time we might get it up a little sooner, we'll see.

The new game is coming along nicely and I'll get Tom to post some pictures/info as soon as possible.

New Poll - The Future of Bunny Invasion

Just added a new poll to get an idea of what YOU would like to see as the next Bunny Invasion game.

With the easter game not being quite as successful as Bunny Invasion 2 (although there are a lot of factors as to why), most likely the next Bunny Invasion installment will just be a straight sequel. Or that's how we're thinking at the moment while working on other stuff.

The original idea was that if it had done really well, then the next game could maybe have been a Halloween-ish themed game, as the plot would follow on very well from the end of the Easter game. (I mean who wouldn't love to see zombie bunnies?) :D

So anyway, although in the mean-time we are working on games outside of the Bunny Invasion series, when we do get around to the next Bunny Invasion game, what would you like to see most. And why?

A new milestone :)

After going over the figures today, we discovered that in the last week or so we have hit 10 million plays worldwide from Bunny Invasion 2 and Bunny Invasion: Easter.

It's a great milestone, and one we certainly never anticipated back in February when we released Bunny Invasion 2.

Thanks to everyone who has played and enjoyed our games, and those who come back to this blog and or the forums.

It should be an exciting 6 months taking us up to the end of this year.
The website is scheduled for an early September release, and hopefully you'll see a couple new games released from us before the year is out.

Not much news!

There's not much news...

Website Update

Earlier this week we worked together with the developers working on the site and worked out the designs and graphics and exactly how the site is going to look. It's coming together really nice and should look great.

At the moment I'm estimating we're looking at a release in late August, but possibly early September.

It's a little later than we first thought, but it is coming :)


Apologies for our updates becoming more infrequent, but we'll try to pick it up and increase the info on what's going on with new games as well as the site.

Website News!

Good good news!!!

After trying many hours learning about how to create websites, how to write in PHP and HTML, it became increasingly apparent that that what we were going into is a big fat juicy job.

So, my brother convinced me that we should pay someone else to do it.

This turns out to be a great idea, and allowing us to go even further with our ideas.

We are hoping to turn GPStudios.com into a great flash game arcade.

It's going to stand out from the rest. We're only going to feature the absolute best games we can find, not like most flash game arcades that put up any old shit and upload 50 games a week.

It's pointless in my eyes, when I see a website like that I just click right off. A good games arcade is one with good games, and for some reason there don't seem to be any out there.

The website layout is being deisgned at the moment, I've almost finished the first draft for all the pages.

The website layout at the moment is admittedly a frankenstein made of all our favourite flash game websites (Kongregate, Newgrounds, Armorgames, Bubblebox and a bit of Addictinggames)

Other features of this website at the moment are:
Game reviews - where one of us (me or my brothers) write a lengthy review on the most recent games.
Blog - This blogspot tool will not be needed anymore unfortunately, but we'll have a new blog in http://www.gpstudios.com/.
Forum, Random Games, Top 50 games, and all the other usual stuff.

The Tower defense game is going well too.
Plot hasn't been decided yet, but there are some ideas floating around right now about the Holy Grail.
The Tower Defense game is also going to stand out from the rest hopefully.
It's a melding of 2 genres, tower defense and Age Of Empires strategy.
On the map there will be resources, and you'll need to build tiny roads (seperate to the road the monsters come) to get to them, and you'll send villagers to these places to gather food, wood, gold or stone.
You'll also be able to build alot of buildings. Towers will be empty at first when you build them, but then you can send archers, bombers, or sorcerors to attack from them.

Great idea, huh?

GP Studios Forum Beta!

A Forum has been set up for GP Studios!

Game & Website Updates!

Well, unfortunately the past 2 weeks have been filled to the brim with nothing.

In terms of game development I've done very little. On the other hand, the GP Studios website is coming along. I don't know when it'll be up, but hopefully something will be up within the next 30 days.


I think the game I'm in the middle of development (pictured above) is going to have to go on the backburner for now. It's going to take such a long time to finish, and right now I just want to see what I can do within a month.

The idea I've got at the moment is to create a tower defense game. The only problem is that I can't think of anything to seperate it from the crowd. Some ideas would be helpful :)

Hopefully sometime next week I'll have some interesting new pictures to show you on the up and coming game!

Tibetans sentenced for taking part in protests in March 2008

This isn't game related in any way obviously, but I read about this and thought I could help in some way.

On April 8th, China sentenced two Tibetans, Lobsang Gyaltsen and Loyak, to death for their alleged involvement in last year's protests in Lhasa. Two others, Phuntsok and Kangtsuk, were also sentenced to death but with a two year reprieve, and Dawa Sangpo was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Without a reprieve, Lobsang Gyaltsen and Loyak could be executed any day now.

It only takes a moment to sign the petition, and doing so on a large scale could save these two innocent people:

If everything goes to plan Bunny Invasion Easter Special will be released on Bubblebox on either Monday 6th, or Tuesday 7th of April.

You can expect about a day wait after release before you will find it on the bigger portals like Newgrounds and Kongregate.

Nothing is up at the moment, but we are aiming to have something up soon after the release of Bunny Invasion Easter.

On another note, Bunny Invasion 2 has now had over 3.5 million plays worldwide!!

Work on Bunny Invasion: Easter Special (working title, might change slightly) is underway.

Lots of ideas are being thrown around at the moment as the game starts being put together, but we would love to hear your ideas on anything.

We obviously have lots of ideas in place but we are still at a stage where any outside ideas could initiate some changes if we like them enough :)

Breaking News!!!

I had no idea earlier today I was going to say this... But...

A new Bunny Invasion is coming out this easter!

I don't know if it'll be called Easter Bunny Invasion or Bunny Invasion Easter Edition. Nevertheless, there is one coming soon.

The new game is going to be more an expansion upon the previous Bunny Invasion.
It shall include the following:

• A whole new host of bunnies!
• Some more weapons and upgrades to play with!
• A whole new plot along with new characters and cut-scenes!
• A whole load more extras to unlock!
• New bosses!
• 40-60 more more blood spurting waves of bunnies!
• An easter theme through out to get you in the mood to celebrate the day christ did a fart in a lepers' face or something... ?

As you can see, the new game isn't exactly an expansion as opposed to a whole new game, but I can't think of another word for it :)

Unfortunately the Strategy/RPG game is gonna be put on hold, but who the fuck cares? More Bunnies to tear down with the mighty Mr Frost

New game in the works!

Having only created 2 games, I'm pretty surprised with what I've already achieved with this new one I'm working on. This game is not a sequel to bunny invasion though.

I don't know what it's going to be called or what the story is; all I know is what it's going to be similar to:

This is a picture from the game I played when I was 7 years old, Vandal Hearts.

It's a fucking brilliant game! So i was more excited than ever when I came up with the idea to do something similar to it.

It's an RPG/Strategy game. You have a number of moves per go, you can attack, cast spells, and you have multiple characters. There are objectives to each fight, and I think it was the first RPG/strategy that let you interact with your surrounding environment.

Thats pretty much as far as I've got with this new untitled game.

You can currently move a character a limited number of moves, change character, rotate the camera, generate a level, and generate objects on land (or water)

This game is gonna be long! The sort of length Protector is!

I can't wait to get a decent story for this game. No doubt my brothers gonna write it again :)

Oh yeah, a proper GP Studios website is on the way!
